American Sign Language Interpretation resources for Festival 2024.

GALA Choruses hires interpreters for each evening Blockbuster concert. If your chorus is interested in hiring an ASL interpreter for your own chorus or ensemble set, here is a list of interpreters who have offered to interpret at Festival 2024.

After reviewing the interpreter options, contact an interpreter directly and make arrangements for interpretation and payment. If you are interested in coordinating an interpreter for multiple choirs within your concert set:
– Use the * search tool on the schedule page to find other choruses that are interpreting concerts in your set, or
Contact Maggie Driemeyer for contact information for choirs in your own concert set.

Once you have secured an ASL interpreter, let us know your concert date so that we can list your concert as interpreted for deaf and hard of hearing audiences. In order to represent your concert well, interpreters will need lyrics, scores and audio/video recordings of the chorus performing the songs.

If you are a certified ASL interpreter and are available to interpret chorus concerts at Festival, fill out this form before June 1.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Audience Members

ASL interpretation will be provided for all evening Blockbuster Concerts as well as the GALA Festival Opening in Peavey Plaza. ASL interpretation at Coffee Concerts, Chorus and Ensemble concerts is at the discretion of each chorus. Interpreted concerts are indicated with a searchable * in the Festival Schedule. Reserved seating for deaf and hard-of-hearing audience members is designated in each hall at house right.

Orchestra Hall offers Williams Sound infrared hearing enhancement devices free of charge at Guest Services. Assisted listening devices are also available in the Convention Center; for details, check the MCC website or call 888-404-5554.

Festival workshops are interpreted by request. Please submit your request no later than June 15 including your name, email and the workshop/s you wish to have interpreted.
