Steve Milloy is the current artistic director of Men Alive! – Orange County’s Gay Men’s Chorus. He is the former artistic director of the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus, the Martin Luther King Coalition Chorale, and the DiverseCity Youth Chorus in Cincinnati. Steve has spent over three decades coaching and directing singers in schools, churches, theaters, and concert stages across the Midwestern United States. He has performed in many venues: theme parks, entertaining troops overseas, TV and radio, and singing with the acclaimed a cappella octet, Pieces of 8.

Steve has been commissioned to compose or arrange pieces for hundreds of church & community choruses in the US and UK.  His masterful piece “Bayard Rustin: The Man Behind the Dream”, commissioned by One Voice Mixed Chorus (St. Paul) has been performed all over the country. He is currently working on another major commission honoring the life of Pauli Murray.

Steve has directed choruses and theater troupes in St. Louis, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati. With Dr. Charles Beale, he coauthored the books “Popular Voiceworks 1 and 2” for Oxford University Press. Steve received a BA in Music from Miami University and a MM in conducting from the University of Cincinnati/College-Conservatory of Music.

Steve Milloy received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Miami University and a Masters of Music in conducting from the University of Cincinnati/College-Conservatory of Music. He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers and serves on the board of the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses.
