GALA Choruses brings Pauli Murray’s story to life with a new multi-movement choral work by composer Steve Milloy, with libretto by Kim Hines.

Pauli Murray: civil rights activist, lawyer, poet and ordained priest. Pauli was born in 1910 and today would have likely identified as transgender or nonbinary. Learn more about Pauli.

GALA Choruses is bringing Pauli’s story to life with a new multi-movement choral work by composer Steve Milloy, with libretto by Kim Hines. Join us for a Rough Cuts reading of the commission featuring a chamber choir of Twin Cities singers, Aimee K. Bryant and Lucia Roderique as soloist/narrators, and composer Steve Milloy. The reading is hosted by Nautilus Music Theater and we look forward to your feedback as part of the reading experience!
