Greetings from Kimberly Waigwa, conductor of the Trans/Nonbinary Festival Chorus!  Join us and over the course of a few rehearsals you will have the opportunity to learn, sing, and bond with other trans and nonbinary folks from across the GALA network!

At our performance at the July 12 TransFusion Cabaret, we will perform a song that speaks to the beauty of our unique human existence by May Erlewine, a folk singer and activist for the environment, social justice, and community building.  “Never One Thing” speaks to the beauty of our unique human existence.

Our set in the July 13 BANNED Blockbuster, includes three songs – each meant to stand as a testament to the joy we can find in singing together, solidarity, and resistance.

  • “When Thunder Comes” by Mari Esabel Valverde, a brilliant and revolutionary trans woman
  • “Wade” by Samantha Rise, a nonbinary song catcher and performer
  • “Don’t Lose Sight” by sibling duo Lawrence, which will feel like a fun, uninhibited, queer house party!

Open to singers who identify as transgender, nonbinary or intersex.

  • July 10 Meet & Greet & Rehearsal 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
  • July 11 Rehearsal 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • July 13 Tech rehearsal 6:30 – 8:30 PM. MCC Auditorium Stage
