Festival 2024 Code of Conduct

Let’s all do our part to make Festival 2024 in Minneapolis safe and enjoyable for all delegates and our hosts in the Twin Cities community!

  • Violence will not be tolerated in any way, including verbal or physical threats of violence, in person or online.
  • No nudity or sex in public areas. This will be grounds for banishment from future Festivals.
  • Do not exhibit discriminatory or abusive language or behavior.
  • Please respect people’s confidentiality.
  • Please respect people’s preferred names and pronouns.
  • Many singers react to aromatic chemicals; please consider avoiding scented products.
  • Recreational cannabis is legal in Minnesota, but we should refrain from smoking marijuana in public or walking around town with open containers of alcohol. Keep in mind that possession of cannabis is still illegal at a federal level and that it is not legal to take it out of the state.
  • While you are wearing your delegate badge, you are representing your home chorus and the association of GALA Choruses. Festival is full of fun, but responsible adult public behavior and personal accountability are expected.
