Andrea Laguni
For more than twenty years, Andrea Laguni collaborated with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra as General Manager and Executive Director and, more recently, for over two years, as Strategic Advisor, working with the Board of Directors and LACO’s Music Directors, Jeffrey Kahane and Jaime Martìn, to fulfill the orchestra’s artistic vision, ensure its financial sustainability, and forge its strategic path.
As a key leadership team member, Andrea’s strategic planning and financial management have consistently delivered positive results. His tenure saw ten years of surplus annual budgets, the successful implementation of two five-year strategic plans, and efficient negotiations of four multi-year contracts with the musicians’ union. Notably, he played a pivotal role in co-producing LACO’s digital content generation and distribution during the challenging times of COVID-19.
Under his leadership, LACO’s commissioning group, Sound Investment, Musaic at the Jazz Bakery, recordings released with BMI and Sony, domestic and international tours, and LACO’s premium streaming series Close Quarters are some of the projects that have taken place.
Since 2014, Andrea has collaborated with various organizations as a part of the Arts Consulting Group, most recently with the Pasadena Symphony as Interim Chief Administrative Officer and Artistic Administrator.
Upon retiring to Palm Springs, he joined the Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus, first as a proud member of the Baritone section and, while continuing to enjoy performing, from 2016 to 2021 and 2022 to present, Andrea served as its board Vice President and is its Secretary
Andrea received his Doctoral Degree in Educational Sciences from the University of Florence. He studied viola, voice, counterpoint, and composition at the School of Music of Fiesole. He is an alumnus of the League of American Orchestras’ Leadership Academy Artistic Excellence (Aspen 2000), and Institutional Vision Seminar (Chicago 2025)
Andrea has served on several boards of nonprofit organizations besides PSGMC: the Association of California Symphony Orchestras (2005-2010), Coachella Valley Rep (2017-2019), and, starting in 2022, the International Piano Competition, serving as its Vice President until June 2025.
In 2029, Andrea was bestowed the title of the Italian Republic Knight of the Order of the Star of Solidarity.
