Dear GALA Choruses Community,

For nearly 20 years, Robin Godfrey has selflessly served GALA Choruses with extraordinary care, quiet tenacity, and thoughtful leadership. It is due in large part to Robin’s extraordinary competence and dedication that GALA continues to exist, grow, and thrive.

As Robin plans for retirement at the end of the year, we ask that you join us in uplifting her numerous accomplishments with a special contribution to the Robin Godfrey Fund. This new fund will propel GALA’s mission and vision forward by supporting efforts to further underwrite administrative leadership opportunities near and dear to Robin’s heart including the GALA Symposium, New Harmony, and 411 Advisor programs.

In her time as Executive Director, Robin turned the organization around financially setting the association on a firm path for continued success. She grew the number of member choruses and developed innovative ways to illuminate choruses, expanding GALA’s focus to increase inclusion of the entire LGBTQIA+ spectrum. She increased the credibility of GALA and the reliability of its offerings and astutely led the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout her years of service, she spearheaded five Festivals, bringing tens of thousands of us together to celebrate our movement, learn from each other, and create a more equitable and empathetic world.

With your help, the Robin Godfrey Fund will increase the level of professional development offerings at Symposium in ways such as bringing in more guest speakers and creating expanded opportunities for chorus leadership to attend through scholarships. The Fund will also be used to broaden the impact of the New Harmony and 411 Advisor programs through increased subsidization of workshops.

Robin has given so much of herself to build an organization in which we can all have immense pride. To create a stronger financial foundation as GALA embarks on its next exciting chapter, please help us honor Robin’s legacy by making a gift today.

With gratitude,

Maria-Elena Grant, Board President
