Joseph Nadeau
Joe is the Artistic Director of Fountain City Performing Arts in Kansas City. As part of FCPAKC, he conducts the youth chorus SingOUTKC and a newly formed adult SATB chorus – OUTside Voices KC. Joe is a member of the GALA Board of Directors and serves as co-chair of the GALA Festival Committee. Joe had also served as AD of Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, of Heartland Men’s Chorus, Kansas City Women’s Chorus, and the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus. He has a BA in Music Education, an MA in Choral Conducting and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree. During his 30 years as a member of GALA Choruses, Joe has led choruses to invitational performances at national Chorus America and ACDA conferences, national and international tours and multiple collaborative performances with other GALA Choruses and guest artists. He has commissioned numerous works and arrangements, produced several commercial recordings, and prepared choruses for appearances in television and film. Dr. Nadeau regularly serves as a guest speaker, presenter, clinician, and adjudicator. Joe is especially passionate about using music to heal, empower, and inspire our communities to stand up for equality and social justice.
