Hola, oi, and hello!  My name is Lígia Pucci (she/they), and I am the conductor for the Voces Latinas Festival Chorus. I am beyond excited to extend this invitation to join our rehearsals and performance as we travel through time and space, and explore the richness and depth of the Latin music heritage!

This chorus is open to all, and I would be honored to connect with folks who are not only part of our latine community, but also those who are interested in learning more and be immersed in a queer latine singing experience within the festival.

The repertoire selections for this group are as diverse as the Latin communities we are attempting to represent (in a 10 minute set)!

  • “Hanacpachap Cussicuinin” by Juan Pérez Bocanegra – baroque music from Peru and a riveting processional with text in the Quechua language
  • “Vivir Mi Vida” arranged by Eric Esparza – recording
  • “Es Tu Tiempo” – a powerful setting by Dominican/Haitian/American composer Francisco Núñez sung in both Spanish and English.

I hope you are able to join us for what is sure to be a wonderful performance!
