GenZ Festival Chorus

GenZ Festival Chorus is conducted by Paul Heins (he/him), Joe Lee (he/him) and Ash (they/she). This chorus is open to any singer ages 13-18. It performs in the TransFusion Cabaret on July 12 from 7:30 to 8:30PM and in the Rise Up Singing! Blockbuster on July 14 from 7:15 to 9:00PM on the MCC Auditorium Stage.

This chorus is open to any singer attending Festival ages 13-18 and is conducted by Paul Heins (he/him), Joe Lee (he/him) and Ash (they/she).  In addition, the GenZ Chorus features singers from four youth choruses including Bridging Voices (Portland, OR), GenOUT (Washington, DC), Major Minors (Nashville, TN), and Youth Pride Chorus (New York City, NY).

Here’s what we’re performing at Festival:

  • “Ring of Keys,” from the musical Fun Home by Jeanine Tesori
  • “On Children” by Ysaye Barnwell
  • “Wake Your Dreams” by queer songwriter Brody Ray and arranged by Ash. This song will be performed with the Prime Time Festival Chorus. There are some great solo opportunities in this song so be sure to sign up for those auditions!

Rehearsal Schedule

  • July 10 Meet & Greet with Rehearsal 3:00 – 4:00 PM
  • July 11 Rehearsal 1:30 – 3:00 PM, 3:30-5:00 PM
  • July 12 Rehearsal 12:30 – 2:30 PM (with Prime Time Festival Chorus)
  • July 13 Rehearsal afternoon time TBD
  • July 13 Tech rehearsal 9:00 – 11:30 AM. MCC Auditorium Stage (this call will only be ~60 min within this time frame)
  • July 14 Perform in Rise Up Singing – Festival 2024 Closing Concert Blockbuster 7:30 – 9:00 PM. MCC Auditorium Stage

To sign up for a Festival Chorus, log into the Integra Online Store: open the “Quick links” drop-down menu on your home page, and select the Online Store option.  On the store Purchase Items page, select the chorus you wish to join with your particular voice part.
