Description of Position Duties: 

Piano accompanist for CT's longest-running community women's chorus, fall season, August 21-November 17 with potential for permanent hire. AOCWC sings an eclectic mix of music from Mozart to traditional folk to Ruth Huber to Sara Bareilles. 

Play vocal parts in addition to accompaniment during rehearsals. Chorus meets weekly at the Unitarian Society of New Haven in Hamden on Tuesdays, 7:00-9:30 p.m. plus two Saturday rehearsals per season. 

Perform with us for two concerts each in fall and spring seasons (Aug-Nov & Jan-May), as well as at outside gigs as they present themselves. This season's concerts will be on Sunday, November 11 in South Glastonbury and on Saturday, November 17 in Hamden. 

Description of Position Qualifications: 

Piano choral accompanist for community women's chorus
Experience accompanying choruses
Qualifying training on piano

Founded in the fall of 1989, Another Octave: Connecticut Womens Chorus (AOCWC) celebrates our choices and experiences through the power of music. An auditioned chorus with roots in the lesbian community, we are open to all women and encourage diversity. Another Octave performs an eclectic repertoire, including standard concert pieces as well as traditional and contemporary music that reflects womens lives. Together, we work for musical excellence and perform for the pleasure of our audiences and ourselves.
