Description of Position Duties: 

The Atlanta Gay Men's Chorus seeks an interim choral director for their March and June 2018 concerts. The choral director provides the artistic and musical vision, leadership, and inspiration, as well as the technical and teaching skills to sustain and advance the AGMC's artistic excellence and will also conduct the group's small ensemble. Additional duties may include ability to identify and develop collaboration opportunities with other musical groups, outreach performances, attendance at donor events and board meetings.

The AGMC is a 37 year-old, 80-member auditioned TTBB community chorus based in Atlanta performing a broad array of traditional choral music, classical works, and contemporary favorites. The chorus is deeply rooted in the LGBTQ community and is a long standing member of GALA Choruses, Inc. The choral director will work closely with the executive director to achieve the vision of the organization: Changing Hearts and Minds Through Music.

Full chorus rehearsals are Thursday evenings and small ensemble rehearsals are Monday evenings in the Atlanta mid-town area.

Description of Position Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate for interim choral director will have experience in directing and recruiting for an adult TTBB chorus, piano proficiency preferred, ability to address vocal production, ability to conduct instrumental ensembles, availability to conduct the chorus's small ensemble, Panache, and ability to work in close partnership with an executive director and board of directors.
