Festival 2020 Coffee Concerts

Wake up and smell the coffee! Festival 2020 hosts eight morning Coffee Concerts representing GALA choruses across spectrum. These concerts feature multi-disciplinary performances, new commissions and some very unique programming. 

Coffee and light breakfast foods will be sold in the lobby before each concert.

Open Secrets: Toronto’s Queer Histories

A multidisciplinary performance designed by Singing Out’s 2019 artist in residence, Ryan G Hinds. Created in partnership with the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives, Open Secrets chronicles through song, dance, and dramatic verse the untold, unheard, and underrepresented stories of queer life in Toronto.

Portraits of Pulse

"Portraits of Pulse" recounts the story of Pulse as seen through the eyes of JD Casto. A local gay photographer, JD was able to catch numerous events on film. His photographs tell the story of Pulse and how the city of Orlando healed in the months following.

One Voice Mixed Chorus (MN)

Re-Membering: Mni Sota Makoce

"Re-Membering" chronicles Minnesota’s history as a place of homecoming for immigrants, but also a place of displacement for Dakota and Ojibwe nations. Similar themes of refuge and exile for LGBTQ Minnesotans are explored in parallel stories. Choral music and stories are brought to life by life-sized puppets.

Cirque Du SoGay

In collaboration with Circus Juventas School of Circus Arts from St. Paul, MN, PGMC presents “Cirque du SoGay”. The concert features music of the circus world, from classic circus shows to modern circus such as Cirque du Soleil, including acrobats, trapeze acts, contortionists, jugglers and dancers.
