Grant Opportunities

The mission of GALA Choruses is to support GLBT choruses as we change our world through song. Providing much needed grant funding is one of the types of support GALA provides. The Dwight Joyner & Michael Murphy Commission Matching Grants Program has been in existence for many years. Generous funding to support this grant program has been provided by former GALA Choruses Board member Dwight Joyner. As part of GALA’s 2008–2010 strategic plan, three additional grant programs have been established along with a new Grants Committee to oversee GALA’s grant activities. The new grant programs include youth chorus support, chorus management continuing education and outreach support. Grants in 2008 for youth chorus support have been devoted to assisting with youth chorus expenses to attend Festival. Grants under the chorus management continuing education and outreach support programs will begin in 2009.

The Grants Committee will be comprised of up to 15 members elected by GALA’s member choruses and will be chaired by the Vice President of GALA Choruses.
