Rehearsal Blues and Blah's? Get yourself organized!
"The Perfect Rehearsal" and "The Perfect Choral Workbook"
Tim Seelig, presenter
Have you been singing the blues over your rehearsal technique? Choral directors are like travel agents. We choose delightful destinations everyone wants to see (or hear). But we don't always make the journey as enjoyable or exciting as the destination. Our jobs are much more about the process than the product. After all, we spend days, weeks and months en route to a destination, stay an hour or two and start all over. It's time we re-tooled for the trip with Lessons and Forms and Lists, Oh My! Just follow the yellow brick road of getting organized! How is it some of your colleagues make the art of choral music look so easy? There are probably three possibilities: 1. They aren't very effective, 2. They have lots of help, or 3. They are really organized. We start at the beginning: "Why am I doing this?" to the final "Enjoying my success". From travel questions, to merchandise to "What makes my choir different from all the rest - in a good way? " The answer is here: Get organized or die!
