Topics addressed include composer and AD communication, artistic freedom vs. control over the final product, matching the ability of the performing chorus, selecting and paying for lyrics, contracts and timelines, copyright issues, commissioning between multiple choirs, ways to ensure your commission will have a life beyond the premier, and the particular challenge of creating legal arrangements of pre-existing songs for your chorus.
