A Poor Man's Guide to Podcasting

Take the mystery out of podcasting. This workshop will help you get started on a shoestring budget with limited technical knowledge.

  1. Understand the basics of podcasting.
  2. Determine the right tools and software available within your budget.
  3. Gain the basic knowledge for editing and producing a podcast.
  4. Discover inexpensive ways to publish content.

Your Chorus & Community Engagement: Some Hard Questions to Consider

This workshop is designed specifically for artists and arts organizations working or considering in-depth collaborations with community-based partners. In it participants will be introduced to a self-assessment process designed to assess motivation and capacity for sustained creative partnerships with other communities or community sectors. Issues addressed will include:

  1. To what end? What will success be for our chorus?
  2. What reasons are there for us not doing this project?
  3. What need, problem, or situation (if any) will be addressed?
  4. How will our chorus know if we succeeded?
  5. How will we resolve any conflicts that arise?

Planned Giving 101: The Road to Success

This session will cover the basics of charitable gift planning and take you from the creation to implementation of a program. It is suitable for any organization as it will also discuss ways to enhance existing programs to make them more successful.

  1. Be able to discuss why planned giving is important to Not for Profit Organizations and their donors.
  2. Understand the basics of planned giving and have an understanding of the vehicles involved.
  3. Know the steps involved in developing a strong gift planning program.
  4. Be able to take a current program, if one exists, and position it for success.

Arts & NonProfit Email Marketing: The Essentials

Email marketing has rapidly become one of the most important elements in arts and nonprofit organizations' marketing programs. This session will arm you with all the essential techniques and data that you'll need to do it right. Learn email marketing from the inside out; create a subject line that works? design an attractive and effective email newsletter? build your list through viral and direct marketing? segment your message and increase ticket sales and/or donations. You'll learn the latest trends about how patrons are using the internet and how it effects their purchase decisions.

This session is designed for those with some or limited experience in emarketing. You'll leave feeling jazzed up with some great ideas, and you'll be able to implement those ideas immediately.
